Goa Khabar : Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju today assumed office as the 22nd Governor of Goa following a swearing in ceremony held at New Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan, Dona Paula. Chief Justice of Bombay High Court, Justice Alok Aradhe administered the oath of Office to the Governor.
The oath ceremony was attended by the Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant along with the Council of Ministers, Members of Parliament, MLAs and various distinguished dignitaries including Union Minister for Civil Aviation Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, Union MoS Shripad Naik, Speaker of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Chintakayala Ayyannapatradu, Minister for Women and Child Welfare, Andhra Pradesh, Gummidi Sandhya Rani, Rajya Sabha Member Sadanand Tanawade, other political leaders, and prominent citizens.

Chief Secretary Dr. V. Candavelau, read the warrant of appointment of the Governor issued by Draupadi Murmu, the President of India.

Ashok Gajapathi Raju has phenomenal achievements during his four decades of political career and social service. In 2014, he served as Union Minister for Civil Aviation. Earlier in 1978, he became MLA from Vizinagar constituency in Andhra Pradesh. Later, he also shouldered responsibility of Cabinet Minister. Besides, he has been heading the prominent Trust in Andhra Pradesh MANSAS (Maharajah Alak Narayan Society of Arts and Science ), which was founded by his father in 1958 to support the cause of education.
