Goa Khabar : Verem United SCC cruised to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Nerul Sports Club in the GFA Third Division League at Moira ground on Monday. Verem’s Gopal Shirodkar, Francisco Fernandes, and Govind Mahale each found the back of the net in a dominant display.
The match saw Verem control the midfield from the outset, with their relentless pursuit of a breakthrough finally paying off in the 30th minute when Gopal Shirodkar powered a shot past the goalkeeper to give his side the lead.
Buoyed by the opener, Verem kept the pressure on, and just before halftime, Francisco Fernandes doubled their advantage with a composed finish. The second half saw more of the same as Govind Mahale sealed the win with a well-taken goal, ensuring a decisive 3-0 result for Verem United.
