Cancer awareness programme at Healthway Hospitals

Goa Khabar : Healthway Hospitals, Old Goa, hosted a cancer awareness programme as part of the Indian Cancer Society’s Medical Empowerment Programme. The programme drew over 120 attendees, including doctors, medical students, and nurses and featured leading experts in the field.

The programme featured keynote speaker Dr Anita Borges, who highlighted the importance of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination for children aged 9 to 14 and screening for women twice between ages 35 and 45. She also discussed the World Health Organisation’s goal of eliminating cervical cancer through widespread vaccination, screening and treatment. The programme also covered topics such as breast and oral cancer, with expert panellists discussing diagnosis, treatment and patient care.
