Goa Khabar : On a lush, green, and rainy day of August, the Goa College of Home Science along with the Rotary Club of Panaji Riviera, inaugurated a fresh start of the activities of the Nature Club of the College, along with the inauguration of the Rotaract Club and the Stress Buster Club.
The theme chosen by the Nature Club for this year was “Go Green! Go Fresh!” representing fresh perspectives and green ideas to bring about small everyday pro-environmental changes in daily life.
The Chief Guest, Rotarian Ms. Tanvi Sawant, along with Rotary New Generation Director, Mr. Jeet Tolani, pinned the hand-made eco-friendly badges on the office bearers for this year, Ms. Neha Gavalkar (President), Ms. Hazel Mascarenhas (Secretary), and Ms. Rukma Kerkar (Treasurer). After this, all the 25 members of the Nature Club planted sprigs of mint to commemorate the day.
Also present on this occasion were Assistant Governor of Rotary District 3170, Adv. Adbrona Valadares, and Principal of Goa College of Home Science Prof. Mahesh Pai.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Assistant Professor, Larissa Rodrigues. As a gesture of gratitude, the chief guests were presented with dream catchers, hand-crafted by one of the students.
