Goa Khabar : The Aam Aadmi Party congratulates the young team behind the Konkani film “Ancessao” which has bagged two awards at the International Film Festival of South Asia (IFFSA) in Toronto, Canada.
AAP demands that both the filmmaker Manguirish Jagdish Bandodkar, who won the Best Film award in the International Short category, and actress Prashanti Talpankar, who won the Best Actor award in International Short category, be recognised at the forthcoming IFFI 2025 in Goa with a felicitation at the hands of the Chief Guest.
While a few BJP politicians have been quick to issue congratulatory statements, the apathy of the BJP-led Goa Govt towards promotion of Konkani films and Goan filmmakers is on record. Despite the BJP Govt’s penchant for extravagant events organized on some pretext or the other throughout the year, the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) did not host a state film festival since 2018. It was only this year that the ESG decided to club the 10th, 11th and 12th editions into one festival.
AAP demands that the BJP Govt do more than just lip service to encourage Goan filmmakers, and better financial assistance as well as other support such as more screenings of Goan films at the IFFI.
