Goa Khabar : The Aam Aadmi Party’s #BJPCheBurak door-to-door signature campaign has struck a chord with Goans, with over 5000 citizens across constituencies signing in protest against the BJP government’s neglect of road infrastructure. The campaign aimed to hold the government accountable and pressurise it to make road repairs a top priority before more lives are lost.

Since its launch in Saligao on September 4, the campaign has spread rapidly to constituencies such as Porvorim, Taleigao, Poriem, Mapusa, Bicholim, Mayem, Priol, Thivim and Marcaim in North Goa. On the other hand, Curchorem, Curtorim, Margao, Quepem, Savordem, Sanguem and Fatorda in South Goa. With thousands already participating, AAP leaders said the movement is gathering momentum and will continue until roads across Goa are made safe.

AAP Goa President Adv. Amit Palekar said, “Every pothole on our roads is a symbol of BJP government failure. We met young people, parents, people with disabilities and senior citizens, everyone has a story of how dangerous roads are affecting their lives. The sheer number of people who came forward to sign proves that Goans will no longer stay silent. They want the government to act now”.

AAP General Secretary (Organisation) Shrikrishna Parab, who has been on ground with volunteers across constituencies, said the campaign reflects Goans’ readiness to demand action.
“The response has been overwhelming. In every constituency we covered, people signed in large numbers. They are tired of false promises and shoddy repairs. Many even shared how accidents and health emergencies are made worse because of dangerous roads. The voices we heard are proof that Goans will no longer stay silent, they want the government to act now,” Parab said.
Parab further added, “This campaign is not just about collecting signatures, it is about amplifying people’s voices and pressuring the government to put citizens first, not contractors”.
