Goa Khabar : The 10th, 11th, and 12th editions of the Goa State Film Festival 2025 will be inaugurated on August 14 at 3:30 pm at INOX Screen 1, Panaji, by Dr. Pramod Sawant, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa, along with Delilah M. Lobo, MLA of Siolim Constituency and Vice Chairperson of the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG).
Screenings will be held at the Maquinez Palace Theatre and INOX, Panaji. This year, 21 awards in the feature film category and 7 awards in the non-feature category will be presented, with 19 feature films and 4 non-feature films competing.
The festival will also host workshops and masterclasses by renowned film personalities including Shri Neelaabh Kaul, Shri Pankaj Saxena, veteran actor Shri Kanwarjit Paintal, and martial arts trainer and actor Shri Chitah Yajnesh Shetty. Winners of the 48 Hours Short Film Competition will be announced on the opening day.
A special highlight will be the Lifetime Achievement Award presented to Smt. Varsha Usgaonkar – celebrated actress, singer, model, and social worker from Goa who has made significant contributions to Hindi, Marathi, and Konkani cinema. The award will be conferred during the closing ceremony on Sunday, August 17, 2025.
The opening ceremony will feature performances by celebrity singer Jolly Mukherjee, a solo band by Mukesh Ghatwal, and a comedy act by Sagar Karande and Ankur Wadhave.
Visitors can also enjoy a food court and handicraft stalls at the INOX courtyard from August 14 to 17.
Delegate registration is open under various categories – Goan Film Fraternity, Film Enthusiast, Student Delegate, and Media Delegate. The Goa State Film Festival 2025 promises a vibrant celebration of cinema and culture – an event not to be missed.
