Dayanand High School Clinches Victory in 7-a-Side Football League Tournament

Goa Khabar:The Chodan Super School Complex, headed by Raghuvir and Premavati Salkar Higher Secondary School, Chorao, successfully organized a 7-a-Side Football League Tournament for its member schools on 2nd August 2025. The tournament was held at Saude Ground, Chorao, under the guidance of Physical Education Teacher Mr. Jaganath Ghatwal.

The event was graced by Mrs. Soniya Vaibhav Salkar as the Chief Guest and Mrs. Geeta Pramod Salkar as the Guest of Honour. In her address, Mrs. Soniya emphasized that football is more than just a game of winning or losing; it is a sport that instills discipline among players. Mrs. Geeta encouraged students to actively participate in sports as a means of achieving holistic development.

Also present on the occasion were Mr. Premanand Mahambare, President of the Chorao Educational Society, and Mr. Sandeep Sawal, Principal, who both spoke on the importance of sports in student life.

The tournament concluded with Our Lady of Divar High School, Divar, securing fourth place, while St. Aloysius High School, Divar, claimed third place. The runners-up were St. Bartholomew’s High School, Chorao. Dayanand High School emerged as the champions with a narrow 1-0 victory in the finals through a penalty.

The prize distribution ceremony was compered by Teacher Luiza Pereira, who also delivered the vote of thanks.
