Goa Khabar : In a significant step towards strengthening cyber safety for citizens, Goa Police has initiated RCS (Rich Communication Services) messaging as part of its state-wide cyber awareness campaign. The initiative is being driven by the AI-ML Lab of Goa Police, and aims to proactively alert citizens about evolving cyber fraud modus operandi.
RCS, the next-generation messaging protocol, allows interactive and visually rich communication directly within a phone’s native messaging app, offering features like verified sender ID, clickable action buttons, embedded images, and branded content. With this launch, **Goa Police becomes one of the first state police forces in India to adopt RCS messaging for cyber outreach**.
The **first wave of messages**, crafted by the AI-ML Lab team, focuses on common and emerging cyber frauds including:
* **Digital Arrest Scams** involving fake police video calls
* **Investment Fraud** via fake crypto/stock trading platforms
The message includes awareness content and direct action buttons such as:
Report on Cybercrime Portal (cybercrime.gov.in)]
Call 1930 Now – 24×7 Cyber Helpline]
The system also ensures **fallback to SMS** for devices that do not support RCS, ensuring wide coverage across demographics.
The AI-ML Lab, established in Feb 2025 in partnership with Samruddh Bharat Technologies, is developing advanced tools for improving efficiency of Goa Police.
**Goa Police urges all citizens to stay alert, not engage with suspicious messages or calls, and report cybercrime immediately.**
