Goa Khabar : Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao on Wednesday, during zero hour, raised issue of the security guards who bear the burden of 18% GST whilst receiving their monthly salaries
Alemao said that the security guards engaged under the Goa Human Resource Development Corporation in government run hospitals and other government establishments provide an essential service and further those recruited as guards belong largely to economically weak families.
“18% GST is a crushing burden as it substantially reduces their take home monthly income. This House expects a firm assurance from the Chief Minister that their full monthly take home salary would be secured and deductions made will be reimbursed with retrospective effect,” Alemao demanded.
He said that it is injustice on these Security Guards and hence, government should immediately give them relief.
