By signing up for the UNGC, GMR Airports has pledged to align its strategies and operations with the Ten Principles of the UNGC, which focus on human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption, as well as to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This significant milestone underscores GMR Airports’ unwavering commitment to embedding sustainability across its operations, fostering innovation, and driving positive change for communities and the planet.
Building a Sustainable Aviation Future
As one of the foremost airport operators in India and globally, GMR Airports has consistently led by example in advancing sustainability in aviation, aligning itself with the SDGs and India’s national priorities. All GMR’s airports are green building certified by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) or the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), ensuring sustainable practices from the design phase itself.
The Company is actively advancing climate action by pursuing carbon neutrality and net-zero emissions through energy-efficient systems, renewable energy adoption, and low-carbon technologies.
