Goa Khabar : The Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), in collaboration with the Government of Goa, is delighted to announce the Aakash Kandil (lantern-making) competition as part of the 55th International Film Festival of India 2024(IFFI). This initiative celebrates Goa’s rich cultural heritage, fostering creativity and community spirit through a stunning showcase of traditional and innovative lantern designs.
Key Details of the Competition:
• Participation Criteria: Open to all residents of Goa.
• Entry Limit: A maximum of 600 entries, with a cap of 50 entries per Taluka, accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
• Participation Reward: Each participant will receive ₹500 as a token of appreciation for their effort and creativity.
• Submission Deadline: Completed Aakash Kandils must be submitted by 22nd November, 10:00 AM at ESG Promenade ESG will provide holders, bulbs, and electricity connections for display purposes.
• Materials: Participants may use any material except thermocol, promoting environmentally friendly creations.
Judging and Rewards:
• Selection Process: Three winners will be chosen from each taluka, and they will receive prestigious prizes as recognition of their craftsmanship.
• Judges’ Decision: The decision of the panel of judges will be final and binding.
This competition is an opportunity for participants to illuminate IFFI 2024 with their artistic vision while contributing to a collective celebration of Goa’s creativity and traditions.
