UC Benaulim and UB Dando Colva share spoils

Goa Khabar : United Club of Benaulim and United Boys of Dando Colva battled to a 1-1 stalemate in the GFA Third Division League at Dando ground, Benaulim, on Thursday. Benaulim’s captain, Osbourne Fernandes, broke the deadlock in the 78th minute, but Colva’s Keegan Fernandes equalized just four minutes later.

Both sides controlled possession in the first half but couldn’t find a breakthrough before the halftime whistle. After the break, Benaulim came out with renewed intent, and their persistence paid off when Osbourne Fernandes fired them ahead. However, Colva quickly regrouped, gaining momentum in midfield, and Keegan Fernandes leveled the match in the 82nd minute. Despite Benaulim’s late push to reclaim the lead, Colva’s defense held firm, leaving both teams to settle for a point.

In another GFA Third Division clash, Assonora United and FC Sanquelim also shared the spoils after a 1-1 draw at Duler Stadium. Pruthviraj Gosavi converted a penalty in the 82nd minute for Assonora, but Sanquelim’s Arun Paryekar salvaged a point with a stoppage-time equalizer in the 90+2nd minute.

Meanwhile, Siddheshwar SCC cruised to a commanding 4-1 victory over Kelbai SC at Quitula ground, Aldona. Mangesh Bandodkar and Nikhil Kholkar both netted braces, while Kelbai’s Rajendra Naik scored a consolation goal in the defeat.
