Mayem-Based Pottery and Terracotta Artist Brings Pride to Goa with National Recognition
Goa Khabar: Goa-based artist Amar L. Shet from Mayem, Bicholim, has been selected for the prestigious National Handicrafts Award 2025 for his outstanding work in pottery and terracotta art.
The award was announced by the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Government of India, in its final list of National Awardees for 2025.
Amar L. Shet has been selected under the Pottery, Ceramics and Terracotta category for his craftsmanship in terracotta and pottery works.
According to the information shared, Amar Shet is the first Goan artisan to receive the National Handicrafts Award, making this a proud achievement for Goa’s handicrafts community.
His selection has brought national recognition to the traditional pottery and terracotta art of Goa.
Artisans and well-wishers have congratulated Amar Shet on his achievement, which is a proud moment for Goa and its traditional handicrafts sector.
