‘Goencho Swad’ Celebrates Goa’s Rich Culinary Heritage

Goa Khabar: As part of the World Tourism Day celebrations, ‘Goencho Swad’ showcased Goa’s rich culinary heritage by bringing together traditional recipes, authentic curries and popular local delicacies.

The event was organised by the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Goa, and the Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG) in association with the Goa Department of Tourism.

Student chefs, home chefs and professional chefs participated in the event, presenting a range of authentic Goan dishes. The programme highlighted traditional cooking practices, locally cherished flavours and recipes that form an important part of Goa’s cultural identity.

Through the participation of chefs from different backgrounds, ‘Goencho Swad’ provided a platform to celebrate and preserve the distinctive tastes and culinary traditions of Goa. The event also focused on keeping alive the stories associated with Goan cuisine and passing this culinary legacy on to future generations.

The initiative formed part of the World Tourism Day celebrations and presented Goa’s traditional food culture as an integral element of the state’s tourism identity.
