Goa Khabar : AAP stated that thousands of consumers are being penalized for exceeding sanctioned load limits fixed years ago, despite never being properly informed about such penalties. Our leaders visited and met families across Goa who have faced high electricity bills.

People are in distress due to sudden hike in bills especially when inflation is at peak. The party also pointed to rising electricity tariffs, higher bills after the introduction of digital meters, and a reported 33% increase in the department’s billing revenue. Has Goa’s population increased by 33%? Have people suddenly started consuming that much more electricity? This is nothing but daylight robbery of consumers, said Valmiki Naik.

The party warned that if the penalties are not withdrawn by this evening, AAP will march to Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar’s residence.
