Petrol Pump Staff Assaulted Over Fuel Payment Dispute at Caranzalem

Goa Khabar: A violent altercation broke out at a petrol pump in Caranzalem on Thursday morning after a dispute over fuel payment allegedly led to the assault of staff members by a group of bikers.

According to petrol pump owner , a group of bikers dressed in black arrived at the outlet to refill fuel. One of the bikers reportedly asked for a full tank refill. However, when the fuel nozzle automatically stopped at ₹615, the customer allegedly refused to pay, claiming that such an amount of fuel could not have been filled into his motorcycle.

The disagreement soon escalated in front of other staff members and customers. Dhond stated that the bikers allegedly began assaulting the customer attendant on duty. When the outlet supervisor rushed to intervene, he too was pushed and physically attacked.

The incident has left the petrol pump staff shaken, with several employees reportedly expressing fear about continuing night shift duties after witnessing the violence.

“We operate 24×7 to serve the community, but a few individuals are taking advantage of the situation for a small amount of fuel,” Dhond said.

A police complaint has been filed in connection with the incident, and the petrol pump management has urged authorities to take strict legal action against those involved.
