Railway update : Special trains announced between Mumbai CSMT and Madgaon to clear summer rush
Goa Khabar : In a move to accommodate the heavy influx of travelers heading towards the coast, Central Railway and Konkan Railway have announced the operation of special train services between Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Madgaon Junction.
These special services aim to provide relief to passengers during the upcoming peak travel dates in April 2026.
Train Schedule and Timing
Passengers can avail of the services on Friday, April 10, 2026, and Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
- Train No. 01129 (Mumbai CSMT to Madgaon Jn.): * Departure: 00:20 hrs from Mumbai CSMT.
- Arrival: 15:15 hrs at Madgaon Jn. (Same day).
- Train No. 01130 (Madgaon Jn. to Mumbai CSMT): * Departure: 16:00 hrs from Madgaon Jn.
- Arrival: 03:45 hrs at Mumbai CSMT (Next day).
Key Halts Along the Route
To ensure maximum connectivity for commuters in the Konkan region, the special trains will stop at the following major and intermediate stations:
Stops include: Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Pen, Roha, Mangaon, Veer, Khed, Chiplun, Sawarda, Aravali Road, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Adavali, Vilavade, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal, Sawantwadi Road, Thivim, and Karmali.
Travel Tip
With the Cashew Fest scheduled in Panaji from April 10–12, these special trains are expected to see high demand. Passengers are advised to book their tickets in advance through the IRCTC website or at PRS counters to ensure a comfortable journey.
