Goa Khabar : The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Goa on Friday rolled out the first drive under its state-wide campaign “BJPChe Gundaraj Goyank Naka” (Goa doesn’t want BJP’s Gundaraj), holding programmes in Mapusa, Nuvem and Taleigao. AAP leaders called on Goans to unite and fight against the growing Gundaraj of the BJP in the state.

AAP Benaulim MLA Capt. Venzy Viegas on Friday while leading Nuvem drive said that the brutal assault on noted social activist Rama Kankonkar in Panaji and the recent threat to activist Swapnesh Sherlekar by a BJP functionary over a Tiger Reserve video reflect the growing culture of fear in the state.

“Today it was Rama, tomorrow it could be any of us. Before BJP’s Gundaraj grows further, we must come together and end it,” Viegas said.

Viegas further added that the main reason behind the growing Gundaraj is Goa’s land. “Today, the BJP wants to sell Goan land for their own profit, but they are doing it under the guise of development. They have nurtured Gundas for the same. Today, Gundas aren’t in jail, they are in the BJP. The BJP is using Gundas to spread fear among Goans so that nobody dares to speak against them. We have to end this, otherwise we will lose our Goa, which is known for being peaceful,” he said.

AAP National Spokesperson Valmiki Naik while leading at Taleigao said, “Each BJP MLA is surrounded by Gundas. When people raise their voices against the government, they threaten people, their Gundas come and scare them. This is not what Goans deserve. We want good future for our children, safe and secure environment for our family. Therefore, we AAP urge Goans to come together and fight against this growing Gundaraj in State”.
