Goa Khabar : With just a few days left for Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, the condition of the Ganesh idol immersion site at Mandop, Navelim is extremely poor. Despite the fact that numerous idols from the Navelim area are immersed at this location every year, the authorities have failed to carry out any maintenance or cleaning measures so far.
Reacting strongly to the situation, Aam Aadmi Party Goa Vice President Siddhesh Bhagat criticized the administration and demanded immediate cleaning and repair of the site to ensure that devotees can carry out the immersion rituals safely and with sanctity.
He pointed out that the pathway leading to the site is overgrown with bushes and is not fit for walking. Additionally, garbage has piled up in the area, creating an unpleasant and unsanitary environment. Bhagat urged the Panchayat and Water Resources Department to take this matter seriously and ensure devotees are not inconvenienced during the upcoming festival.
