Goa Khabar : Vijai Sardesai, Fatorda MLA and Goa Forward Party President, strongly objected to the government’s failure to act against large-scale intrusion by outsiders in Goa’s coastal land.
“For three years, I have been asking MLA Nilesh Cabral for updates. Why is nothing being done? Who is stopping him?” he questioned in the Assembly.
Citing drone surveillance mentioned by the Chief Minister of Goa, Sardesai said it only confirmed that trawlers from Karnataka and Gujarat are looting Goan fish. “This is Goans vs Outsiders, plain and simple. And the government is failing Goans.”
In response, Goa’s Fisheries Minister Nilkant Halarnkar said, “We have seen all the visuals, and we have a solution for this issue.”
Sardesai, however, warned that unless action is taken urgently, Goan livelihoods will continue to be compromised.
