MLA Venzy Viegas raised point of order on this issue in Assembly, forcing CM to act

Goa Khabar : On the very first day of the Assembly session, Benaulim MLA Captain Venzy Viegas demanded in the House that a copy of the email sent to Air India and other airlines asking them to halt flights at Dabolim Airport be submitted. Following up on the issue today, MLA Viegas raised a Point of Order in the Assembly, reiterating the demand. Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao also supported MLA Viegas on this matter in the House. Subsequently, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant submitted the copy of the email sent to the airline companies to MLA Venzy Viegas in the Assembly.

MLA Venzy Viegas had previously taken up the issue on 21st July, in connection with a question raised by MLA Michael Lobo in the Assembly, demanding that the Chief Minister correspond with the airline companies to stop flights at Dabolim Airport. He had insisted that the CM act on the matter before the end of the Assembly session and submit a copy of the communication.

Today, 23rd July, as soon as proceedings began, MLA Viegas once again raised the issue through a Point of Order. Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao supported Viegas and joined in pressing the matter. Following this, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant sent the email to the airline companies and submitted a copy of it to MLA Viegas in the House.

Meanwhile, MLA Venzy Viegas expressed satisfaction after receiving the copy of the email sent by the Chief Minister to the airline companies instructing them to halt flights at Dabolim Airport.
