Congress demands immediate & unconditional release of Rama : Amit Patkar

Goa Khabar : Goa Pradesh Congress Committee strongly condemns the illegal detention of Rama and demands his immediate and unconditional release. The BJP government’s continued misuse of power to suppress voices of dissent is unacceptable, said Amit Patkar, President, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee.

We question the Director General of Police (DGP)—what crime has Rama committed that he is being treated like a criminal with his face covered? This is nothing but an act of political vendetta and an attempt to intimidate those who stand against the corrupt practices of the BJP regime, he added.

He said, If Rama is not released immediately, the Congress party, along with the people of Goa, will ensure that this corrupt BJP government faces a massive backlash. We will not allow the ruling dispensation to trample upon fundamental rights and democratic values.The Congress party stands firm in its commitment to protecting the rights of Goans and will continue to fight against BJP’s authoritarianism and injustice.
