Goa Khabar: Goa Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar on Sunday asserted that the Goa Government will not permit Tata Power to distribute electricity in the state, stating that Goa already has one of the best power distribution infrastructures in the country.
Dhavalikar urged all municipal councils and village panchayats not to issue No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to Tata Power for any electricity distribution-related activities.
He alleged that the company had approached local bodies directly without first obtaining the State Government’s approval, calling the move improper.
Reiterating the government’s position, the Minister said the existing electricity distribution system in Goa is efficient and capable of meeting the state’s requirements, leaving no need for a private distributor to operate in the sector.
