Damu Naik Honoured with Shenoi Goembab Award on 149th Birth Anniversary Celebrations

Goa Khabar: BJP Goa President Damu Naik was honoured with an award during a programme organised in Shiroda to mark the 149th birth anniversary of renowned Konkani scholar and cultural icon Shenoi Goembab.

The event was jointly organised by Shiroda Konkani Seva Kendra, Vardha Prakashan, and Shivgram Shikshanik Society. Expressing his gratitude after receiving the honour, Naik said he felt proud and deeply humbled to be recognised at a programme dedicated to a towering figure of Konkani language and culture.

He stated that his greatest satisfaction comes not from merely speaking about the promotion of Konkani, but from the work he has undertaken for the language over the years. Naik said the recognition of his efforts by the organisers was a matter of immense pride and thanked them for acknowledging his contribution.

Reaffirming his commitment to the Konkani language and the people of Goa, he said he would continue working tirelessly for the promotion and preservation of Konkani in the future.

On the occasion, Naik paid tribute to Shenoi Goembab and conveyed his heartfelt greetings and appreciation to all the organisers and supporters associated with the celebration.
