Goa Khabar : Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao on Friday, during zero hour, raised issue of noise pollution in coastal belt and particularly in Assagao by one KIKI’s Bar and Restaurant playing music late nights spilling into early morning beyond permissible decibels.
“Noise pollution in this area and coastal belt impacts the studies of students, health of senior citizens and also impacts on autistic children who suffers from sleep disturbances and convulsions due to the loud noise. The people are frustrated by filing complaints after complaints every day. This is open defiance to the directives of the High Court and the regulations of the GSPCB,”
“No location should be a 24×7 entertainment zone. There is the right of peaceful living. The threat emnates in Baga- Calangute- Candolim belt; Anjuna-Vagator-Ozran belt; Morjim- Ashvem-Mandrem and Agonda-Palolem belts,” Alemao said.
Responding to Cuncolim MLA, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant directed his officials to take action in this matter.
