Goa Khabar : Goa Congress chief Amit Patkar has slammed the Enforcement Directorate’s chargesheet in the AJL–Young Indian case as a politically motivated move to target Congress leaders Rahul and Sonia Gandhi. He called it a desperate act by the Modi government to silence critics.

Patkar clarified that the loan given by Congress to Associated Journals Ltd (AJL) was legal and documented, and converting it to equity through Young Indian – a not-for-profit company – followed due process. “Young Indian has made no profit, and AJL assets remain with AJL,” he said.

Dismissing claims of AJL owning ₹5,000 crore in property as false, he noted that even the IT department valued it at ₹359 crore. Patkar accused the government of misusing agencies for political gain and affirmed that Congress will continue to speak against injustice and authoritarianism.
