Goa Tourism Minister alleges attempts to create communal divisions and claims the protest is backed by anti-national elements; says government will not tolerate activities threatening religious harmony

Goa Khabar: Goa Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte has strongly criticised the CJP over alleged “Hinduvad Murdabad” slogans raised during its march in Panaji, accusing the organisation of attempting to create religious divisions in the state.

In a strongly worded post on social media platform X, Khaunte alleged that the slogans raised during the CJP march exposed what he described as the organisation’s real motive of creating religious polarisation in Goa.

He further claimed that the alleged attempts to divide communities were being encouraged by what he termed “anti-national sponsors.”

Khaunte accused the organisation of pursuing a hidden agenda and alleged that its activities were aimed at disturbing Goa’s communal harmony.

“Goa Govt will Not Tolerate such attempts at Religious Polarisation with Hidden Terrorist Agenda’s,” Khaunte stated in his post.

The minister also tagged Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant and the official Goa Chief Minister’s account, drawing the state government’s attention to the alleged incident.

His remarks have brought the CJP march in Panaji into focus, particularly over allegations concerning the nature of the slogans raised during the demonstration.

However, the allegations regarding anti-national sponsorship and a hidden terrorist agenda remain claims made by the minister. The authenticity and circumstances of the alleged slogans have not been independently verified.

Khaunte’s statement underscores his opposition to what he described as attempts to create religious divisions in Goa, with the minister asserting that the state government would not tolerate such activities.
