Goa Khabar: The Goa Crime Branch has filed a chargesheet against five accused, including four Bangladeshi nationals, in connection with the 2025 dacoity at a bungalow in Dona Paula.
According to the police, the accused allegedly entered the bungalow at Nagali Hill, Dona Paula, on April 20, 2025, assaulted the caretaker, tied up the caretaker and the complainant’s parents, and confined them inside the house before escaping with around 1 kg of gold ornaments and approximately ₹3 lakh in cash.
The accused were formally arrested after being taken into custody by the Delhi Police in April 2026. During the investigation, the Crime Branch collected evidence through witness statements, Test Identification Parade (TIP), CCTV footage, technical analysis, disclosure statements, and the recovery of gold coins, a crowbar, and other incriminating articles.
The investigation also revealed that four of the accused had entered and stayed in India without valid travel or immigration documents. Relevant provisions of the Foreigners (Amendment) Act, 2004 have also been invoked against them.
The chargesheet was filed on July 29, 2026, before the JMFC Court, Merces, under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, and the Foreigners (Amendment) Act, 2004.
The investigation was carried out by PI Dattaguru Sawant under the supervision of SP Jivba Dalvi (DySP Crime) and SP Crime Rahul Gupta, IPS.
