Sanguem Records Highest Rainfall in Goa with 42.3 mm; No Heavy Rainfall Reported

Goa Khabar: Sanguem recorded the highest rainfall in Goa with 42.3 mm during the 24-hour period ending at 8:30 AM on July 9, 2026, according to the latest rainfall data.

Sanguem was the only location to receive moderate rainfall (15.6 mm to 64.4 mm), while no place in Goa recorded heavy, very heavy or extremely heavy rainfall during the period.

Several other areas received light rainfall, including Ela (Old Goa) (15.2 mm), Valpoi (14.2 mm), Dharbandora (14.2 mm), Sankhali (10.8 mm), Ponda (8.8 mm), Canacona (6 mm), Quepem (5 mm), Mapusa (4.2 mm) and Margao (3.1 mm).

Very light rainfall was recorded at Mormugao (2.2 mm), Panaji (1.6 mm) and Dabolim (1 mm).

The latest observations indicate that rainfall activity remained generally weak across Goa, with Sanguem emerging as the wettest location in the State during the reporting period.
