Goa Khabar: Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho has said that the Goa Government has deferred its decision on the proposed Taxi Policy, citing the upcoming elections and the lack of broad consensus on the issue.
Speaking to the media, Godinho said that this is not the right time to take a tough decision, especially with elections approaching. He added that the proposed Digital Taxi Policy has not yet received widespread acceptance from all stakeholders.
The Transport Minister stated that the government will revisit the Taxi Policy after the elections, once there is a more appropriate environment for discussions and decision-making.
He reiterated that the government intends to take a considered decision only after ensuring wider consultation and consensus on the proposed policy.
