Goa Khabar: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar has alleged that Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant and the BJP are working on the formation of a new Salcete-based secular political party ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.

Addressing the media, Chodankar claimed that the BJP has earmarked a ₹100 crore budget for the alleged plan, with the objective of dividing the secular votes traditionally received by the Congress.

He further alleged that the process of forming the new political outfit has already begun and that several leaders are actively involved in the exercise.

Chodankar said the alleged move is aimed at weakening the Congress by splitting the secular vote bank, and urged the people of Goa to remain vigilant against what he described as a politically motivated strategy ahead of the elections.
