GUJ Journalism Awards ceremony on June 9

Goa Khabar : The Goa Union of Journalists (GUJ) will host its GUJ Journalism Awards presentation ceremony on June 9, 2026, at Institute Menezes Braganza Conference Hall, Panaji, starting 10.15am.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will be the Chief Guest for the function. Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao will be the Guest of Honour, along with GSIDC chairman Michael Lobo.

Special invitees include Abhir Hede, Director of Department of Information and Publicity, Government of Goa, Rajesh Tarkar, Chairman and Founder of Rajdeep Builders, Sanjay Bhandari, Corporate Affairs Manager, Nestle India (Goa), and Jambu Hosmani, Managing Director of Panchamrutha Industries Pvt. Ltd.

The Goa Union of Journalists will honour three veteran rural journalists, Mohan Verenkar (Savoi Verem), Shripad Samant (Curchorem) and Rajesh Chodankar (Bicholim) for their service in the field of rural journalism. The felicitation of a rural journalist is held in honour of veteran journalist late. Suresh Walve.

Winners of the GUJ Journalism competition 2023, 2024, and 2025 will be presented with awards. Winners of the first GUJ Solo Singing Competition on the theme ‘National Integration’ will also receive their awards.

A special GUJ Journalism Awards Directory featuring the award-winning entries will be released during the ceremony.
