Goa Khabar : From Easter eggs, to brownies and cinnamon rolls, students from the Kamaxi College of Culinary Arts (KCCA) had every kind of Easter goodie on offer at the Easter Bake Sale. The students, along with foodpreneurs from the Fierce Kitchens ecosystems, showcased their baking and pastry skills with a variety of savoury and sweet items.

The bake sale, hosted by Fierce Markets at Mungul along the Margao-Colva road, saw people gather to ring in the Easter cheer and celebratory mood recently, giving the students a first hand exposure to the markets and a peek into how the food and beverage industry functions beyond the kitchen.

Parixit Pai Fondekar, the founder of the Kamaxi Group, which operates KCCA and Fierce Kitchens, highlights the importance of such an event. “We want our students to not only learn about cooking and baking, but also give them exposure to sales and customer relations. There is no better way to do this than on the happy occasion of Easter, where they could make and sell Easter goodies from around the world,” said Fondekar.

The students shared that the experience was a bit challenging but very enjoyable.  “The best part was interacting with customers and presenting our product. With the support of our faculty and chefs, we were able to perform and present very well. Overall, it was a valuable and memorable experience,” said Krishna Das, a global bakery pastry student.

Adding in, Delcy Fernandes, another bakery pastry student, said, “Working together as a team and supporting each other made it special. I’d like to thank our college and Fierce Markets for the opportunity. It was very rewarding to see people enjoy our creations. I look forward to more such events”
