Goa Khabar : The Aam Aadmi Party Goa celebrated a significant milestone as party leader and assembly president of Panjim Jack Sukhija emerged victorious in the CCP elections as part of the Ami Ponjekar Panel, becoming the first AAP corporator in CCP. Two AAP leaders, Jack Sukhija and Uma Volvoikar had contested the elections as part of the AAP backed Ami Ponjekar panel, with Sukhija securing victory.
The victory is a reflection of the growing trust of Panjim’s citizens in clean, transparent, and people-centric politics of Aam Aadmi Party.
Through Social media platform X (Twitter) AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal tweeted congratulating Jack Sukhija and the entire Goa team for the victory and extended his best wishes for effective public service. AAP Goa Prabhari Atishi also congratulated Sukhija and expressed confidence that as corporator he will become a strong voice for the people of Panjim while carrying forward the legacy of his grandfather Dr Jack de Sequeira.
The newly elected AAP corporator Jack Sukhija thanked the party president Valmiki Naik, MLAs Venzy Viegas and Cruz Silva along with the entire party leadership and volunteers for their support during the election campaign. “This victory belongs to the people of Panjim who chose honest and people-centric politics. I am grateful to the voters for their trust. I will work to continue the legacy of my grandfather Dr Jack de Sequeira through dedicated service, protecting the identity of Panjim and Goa and addressing the concerns of its citizens,” Sukhija said.
AAP Goa State President Valmiki Naik said the victory demonstrates that the people value strong and responsible leadership. He stated that Panjim has elected a councillor who will take a firm stand on issues affecting the city. “Just as our two MLAs have shown in the Goa Assembly that the strength of a voice matters more than numbers, our corporator will raise the concerns of Panjim with the same determination,” Naik stated. Naik further alleged that attempts were made to weaken the Ami Ponjekar panel through delimitation, electoral rolls, and reservation patterns. But voters have chosen our candidate committed to public service.
The Aam Aadmi Party Goa unit expressed confidence in the growing reach and strength of the party and that the newly elected corporator will work towards the development of Panjim and ensure that the concerns of its citizens are strongly represented in the Corporation of the City of Panaji.
