Goa Khabar : The Aam Aadmi Party Goa held a press conference addressed by newly appointed State President Valmiki Naik, Organisational Secretary Prashant Naik, Working President Gerson Gomes, Senior Vice President Sandesh Teleikar Dessai, and MLAs Capt. Venzy Viegas and Engr. Cruz Silva, outlining AAP’s clear stand on alliances, governance, and the road ahead for party.

Addressing the media, Valmiki Naik said AAP’s first priority is defeating the BJP, but not at the cost of Goa’s future. “Before any discussion on seat sharing, we must finalise a common minimum programme. Goa deserves clarity on issues like corruption, land scams, TCP amendments, mining scams, SEZ scams and governance. Let us show Goans that we are fighting for Goa, not for power. If intentions are right, AAP is ready to take the lead in building a successful alliance.

Many people don’t know this, but the INDIA alliance itself was shaped by Arvind Kejriwal’s efforts. AAP united national opposition leaders to defeat BJP in Parliament. We are ready to do whatever it takes to defeat BJP and save Goa. But before mathematics, chemistry must be right. The agenda must come first,” he said.

Working President Gerson Gomes said AAP has consistently demonstrated its commitment to defeating BJP. “We are a party born out of an anti-corruption movement. We did not enter politics for power. Our priority remains defeating BJP and ending corruption in Goa. Any alliance must be to give people good governance and resolving public issues” he stated.

Prashant Naik the newly appointed organisation secretary added that “ we will be focusing on next few months on grassroots level organisations building, our locals teams will be given specific targets to work on booth level organisation. “

Senior Vice President Sandesh Teleikar Dessai said “We are a party with staunch stand on Anti Corruption and in coming days party will be taking this issue of massive corruption across Goa by hitting the ground ”

AAP MLA Capt. Venzy Viegas reminded that AAP has already shown its commitment to unity against BJP.
“We have already done it in Loksabha. I was l nominated a candidate for south Goa and withdrew it for the larger goal of defeating BJP. That shows our intent. For 2027, we are not just open to an alliance, we are ready to lead the efforts—provided the fight is for Goa, not for posts,” he said.

MLA Engr. Cruz Silva added that AAP represents a genuine alternative to traditional politics.
“AAP has always presented a complete governance package—honest candidates, clear leadership and people-focused manifestos. When in alliance we want to solve the public issues by throwing the BJP out so the alliance need to be based Goa’s issues and not arithmetic” he said.

AAP reiterated that its first priority is to defeat the BJP and protect Goa, and any alliance must be based on a clear agenda, shared values and commitment to honest governance—not seat adjustments or power-sharing.
