Goa Khabar:AAP MLA Capt. Venzy Viegas today exposed illegal clearing and sand-dune destruction carried out by a JCB owned and operated for Warren Alemao on the Zalor–Fatrade border.
The work was done without any work order or official permission and when AAP activists reached the site and called district officials and the police. They were manhandled and aggressively charged at by goons linked to the Alemao family. AAP immediately contacted the DGP, Collector, Mamledar and other senior officials — and persuaded officials to stop the JCB before it left the Benaulim border.
The JCB was not confiscated on the spot. Instead, police were deployed with the assurance that the machine would be officially seized on Monday. Shockingly, the same JCB was released late that night. The release of this JCB was done after calls from senior BJP leader Damu Naik — or even direct intervention from CM Pramod Sawant. This sequence of events shows clear political interference and protection.
MLA Capt. Venzy Viegas said “We stopped the illegal work and called the administration. But the JCB was released at night — this is clear evidence of a BJP protecting the Alemao family. Tomorrow at 11:30 AM we will take Benaulim people to the site and show our strength. All those responsible will be held accountable.”
AAP Varca Co-coordinator Francis said:
“I went to Fatrde and asked the panch whether permission was given. They attacked me just for asking. If work was legitimate it should have been carried out by the panchayat — why was Warren Alemao’s private JCB used? We will not allow this destruction of sand dunes.”
Gabby added:
“How was a private JCB allowed to operate in the CRZ zone? Where is the permission? The Sarpanch and everyone involved must be charged under relevant laws. AAP will pursue strict action.”
What AAP demands:
• Immediate confiscation of the JCB and machinery used for illegal clearing.
• FIR and investigation into the attack on AAP volunteers and activists.
• Immediate action against those responsible for illegal hill/sand-dune cutting, including the landowner, the machine operator and any official who facilitated the work.
AAP MLA Capt Venzy called on all residents and concerned citizens to join us at the Zalor–Fatrade site tomorrow at 11:30 AM to peacefully protest the illegal activity and demand justice.
