Goa Khabar : AAP Goa President Adv. Amit Palekar has invited all BJP MLAs for a bike ride from Porvorim to Mapusa on 23rd August. He stated that while BJP Ministers are busy going viral by promoting hinterland tourism, AAP will now give them a chance to experience a new ‘hinterland tourism spot’, the pothole-ridden roads that Goans struggle with every day.

Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party’s #BJPCheBurak campaign has forced the BJP government to wake up from its long slumber. After months of excuses and neglect, the government has finally rushed into patchwork repairs across Goa.

AAP leaders staged protests under the campaign in Panaji, Agarvado (Mandrem), Kalapur (Chimbel), Curtorim, Canacona, Mayem, and Porvorim. Soon after, the Public Works Department (PWD) hurriedly started road repairs in these very places.

Addressing the media on Friday in Panaji, AAP Goa President Adv. Amit Palekar said, “When AAP launched its campaign and hit the streets, within hours we witnessed road fixing work happening. The BJP government had delayed repairs for months and kept giving excuses like heavy rain. Pre-monsoon works were also allotted, but on the ground, nothing was done. Look at Mapusa and Porvorim, it felt like there are no MLAs. But when AAP raised the pothole issue, the government immediately acted. This is the power of AAP.”

AAP General Secretary (Organisation) Krishna Parab slammed the BJP’s “haphazard patchwork.” He said, “We don’t want to celebrate this kind of work. It’s temporary and shoddy. In fact, it creates more damage. At Saligao junction in Porvorim, potholes were filled with soil as if the road is meant for farming, not driving. This is a mockery. We demand permanent solutions and proper motorable roads. Until Goans get safe roads, we will continue our campaign.”

AAP Vice President Valmiki Naik highlighted the massive public response. “After our campaign launch, we have received a flood of photos and videos from across Goa. It shows the crumbling infrastructure under the BJP.

Our #BJPCheBurak campaign has not only received overwhelming support from the people of Goa, but it has also pushed other opposition parties to step out on the streets and raise the pothole issue. This clearly shows that AAP is playing the role of a true opposition, raising people’s voices and compelling others to follow our lead. AAP today stands as the real voice of Goans”, Naik said.

The AAP leaders maintained that while BJP’s patchwork is a knee-jerk response, Goans will not settle for half measures. The #BJPCheBurak campaign will continue until every pothole in Goa is fixed.
