Goa Khabar : Goa Police secured their fourth consecutive win with a commanding 4-1 victory over Guardian Angel SC at Duler Stadium on Friday.
Saeesh Halarnkar opened the scoring, heading in a free-kick from Suraj Hadkonkar, and quickly added a second with a clinical strike from a Ronaldo Oliveira assist. Guardian Angel’s night worsened when Clifton Rebello was sent off, leaving them with ten men. Goa Police capitalized on their advantage, with Hadkonkar and Moises D’sa both scoring, assisted by Ronaldo. Guardian Angel managed a late consolation through Godwin Fernandes, who finished off a Milroy Clement assist.
Guardian Angel’s coach, Riston Rodrigues, made three changes following their defeat to FC Goa, with Milroy Clement returning to defense, while Preston Castano and Airen Fernandes were brought into midfield. Goa Police, buoyed by a three-match winning streak, made just one change, introducing Moises D’sa to strengthen the midfield.

Goa Police dominated early, with Saeesh Halarnkar nearly opening the scoring, only to be denied by Peter Carvalho’s crucial block. Minutes later, Suraj Hadkonkar’s shot hit the post, but Guardian Angel managed to clear. The pressure continued, and after several missed opportunities, Goa Police finally broke the deadlock in the 58th minute when Halarnkar headed in a cross from Hadkonkar. Just minutes later, Halarnkar doubled the lead with a strike into the top corner.
Guardian Angel’s hopes dimmed further when Rebello was sent off for a second yellow card. Goa Police quickly made the most of their advantage, as Hadkonkar and D’sa added two more goals, both set up by the influential Ronaldo Oliveira.
Despite a late goal from substitute Godwin Fernandes, Guardian Angel couldn’t recover, and Goa Police cruised to a 4-1 win.
