Goa Police launches first in a series of medical camps in collaboration with Rotary club Porvorim

Goa Khabar : Goa Police, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Porvorim, launched the first in a series of medical camps on Tuesday at the GRP Hall, Altinho, aimed at enhancing the health and well-being of its personnel. Around 500 police personnel, including women personnel, benefited from the camp, which is part of an ongoing initiative that will continue over the next 20 months to cover all police personnel.
The medical camp featured essential screenings for Hepatitis B and C, along with FibroScan tests to evaluate liver health. Women police personnel also received cancer screenings.
Inaugurating the camp, DGP Goa Alok Kumar, IPS emphasized the importance of health in ensuring a fit and efficient police force. “A healthy workforce is key to increased productivity, a positive organizational image, enhanced public safety” said DGP Goa.
These medical camps will be held twice a month to ensure comprehensive health coverage for all Goa Police personnel. This initiative forms part of a broader health program for Goa Police. In addition to regular medical screenings, upcoming camps will focus on promoting healthier lifestyles, including nutrition and exercise, led by health experts.
The inauguration was attended by Archna Sawant, President of the Rotary Club of Porvorim, alongside Dr. Kadam, Dr. Shetye, SP HQ Nelson Albuquerque, SP South Sunita Sawant and SP Training Sucheta Desai.
Goa Police remains committed to prioritizing the health and well-being of its personnel, contributing to a stronger, more resilient police force.
