FRRO Goa Special Task Force Traces Nine Overstaying Foreign Nationals

The Special Task Force of the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) Goa has traced nine foreign nationals found to be overstaying in the state. The group consists of seven Russian nationals (including two minors) and two Ukrainian nationals.

Current Status of the Individuals

Out of the nine individuals identified:

  • Two Russian nationals have already left the country.
  • For the remaining individuals, applications for exit permits or visa conversions have been submitted and are currently being processed.

The Operation

The crackdown was conducted under the supervision of Arshi Aadil (IPS), SP FRRO, and monitored by Braz Menezes, SP/DySP FRRO. The field operations are being led by PI Devendra and PSI Parag Parekh, along with a team of IRBn personnel. The team is making continuous efforts to identify such cases and ensure all foreign stay in Goa is legally compliant.

Important Advisory for Hotel and Home-Stay Owne

The FRRO has issued a strict reminder to all accommodation providers regarding mandatory compliance with Form III / Form C requirements:

  1. 24-Hour Rule: Arrival and check-in details of all foreign nationals must be submitted within 24 hours.
  2. Departure Update: Check-out details must also be updated within 24 hours of departure.
  3. Accuracy: All information entered must be correct and complete.
  4. Inclusions: This rule applies to OCI card holders and minor children accompanying foreigners.

Warning: Any delay or failure to report these details may lead to strict penal action under the law. The FRRO Goa appeals to all providers to ensure timely compliance to avoid legal consequences.
