Top 10 Winners of ‘My Dream Union Budget 2026’ Felicitated in Goa

Goa Khabar : The Directorate of Higher Education, Government of Goa, in collaboration with the Goa State Higher Education Council and the Foundation for Skill Development (FSD), organized the felicitation ceremony of the National Essay Competition “My Dream Union Budget 2026” at DTE, Porvorim.

The competition saw participation from 70 students across 27 higher educational institutions in Goa, showcasing strong interest among students in economic policy and nation-building. The initiative aimed to encourage young minds to think critically and contribute meaningful ideas on the Union Budget.

Addressing the gathering,Bhushan Savoikar, Director of Higher Education, highlighted the importance of such platforms in fostering analytical thinking and policy awareness among students. He noted that engaging with real-world economic themes enables students to better understand governance and prepares them for future leadership roles.

Speaking on the occasion, Aalok Mehta, President of FSD, emphasized the need for practical skill development in areas such as accounting, taxation, and corporate laws. He appreciated the talent of Goan students, noting that the essays submitted were insightful, well-articulated, and reflective of strong understanding. He also acknowledged the support of Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant in encouraging such initiatives that promote academic excellence and student engagement.

The programme concluded with the felicitation of the top ten winners from Goa, recognizing their outstanding contributions. The event also acknowledged the efforts of all participants and faculty members whose involvement contributed to the overall success of the competition.

The function was attended by Bhushan Savoikar, Director, Directorate of Higher Education; Mr. Aalok Mehta, President, Foundation for Skill Development (FSD); Dr. Niyan Marchon, Programme Director, Directorate of Higher Education; Sadhana Mukundan, Director & General Manager, Trade Wings Hotels Limited; Advocate Anita Thorat; and Dr. Andrew D’Souza, Coordinator.
