Goa strengthens outreach in Poland as tourism delegation visits Paryatan Bhavan

Goa Khabar : The Department of Tourism, Government of Goa, warmly welcomed a delegation of around 37 visitors from Poland at Paryatan Bhavan aimed at strengthening international tourism collaboration and showcasing Goa’s diverse tourism potential.

The delegation was received by Jayesh Kankonkar, Deputy Director of Tourism; Gavin Dias, General Manager, GTDC; Deputy General Manager (Marketing), GTDC, Deepak Narvekar; and Chitra Vengurlekar, Assistant Tourist Officer, along with representatives from the tourism industry. The guests were warmly welcomed with roses, symbolising Goa’s hospitality and cordial relations with international markets.

As part of the programme, an engaging presentation on Goa’s tourism offerings was delivered by Gavin Dias, General Manager, GTDC. The presentation highlighted Goa’s diverse experiences, including cultural heritage, cuisine, adventure tourism, wellness, and premium hospitality. Connectivity to Goa via air, sea, rail, and road was also elaborated upon, along with information on the ease of travel through the e-visa facility.

Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, Rohan Khaunte stated,“Poland is an important emerging market for Goa. We are encouraged by the growing interest and look forward to deepening engagement through improved connectivity, seamless travel processes, and diverse experiences that reflect the true spirit of Goa. Our endeavour is to ensure that every visitor has a safe, enriching, and memorable journey.”

Director of Tourism, Kedar Naik said: “Goa has been witnessing growing interest from the Polish market, and such visits play a key role in strengthening awareness and confidence among travellers.”

The delegation was treated to a series of curated visual showcases, including the ‘I Am Goa’ video; ‘Postcards from Goa’ by National Geographic India with a focus on adventure experiences, food, etc; and a special video on the festivals of Goa. Visual highlights of iconic celebrations such as Carnaval and Shigmo generated keen interest among the visitors.

The visit was facilitated by Ernest Dias, Chief Operating Officer of TCI and SITA, who played a key role in bringing the delegation to Goa. There is growing interest from the Polish market, particularly from Katowice and Warsaw, with the commencement of two flights operating every ten to eleven days using aircraft with a 189-seat capacity.

The Department of Tourism expressed optimism that this engagement will further strengthen Goa’s presence in the Polish market and contribute to sustained international outreach. The delegation, in turn, appreciated the warm welcome and expressed enthusiasm to explore and experience Goa during their stay.
