Orchid awards, the 13th edition celebrates excellence of Goan women achievers

Goa Khabar : Goa witnessed an inspiring celebration of women achievers at the 13th edition of Orchid Awards, an annual award function dedicated to honouring outstanding Goan women achievers from diverse fields. Founded and conceptualised by Asha Arondekar, the Orchid Awards have grown into a prestigious and iconic platform completing 15 years recognising Goan women who inspire change and leadership.

A grand celebration of talent, dedication, and achievements marked the 13th edition of Orchid Awards for Women Achievers of Goa, an evening which shone through inspiration and commitment.

Held at the Panjim Convention Centre, the programme celebrated the power of women in different sectors and the winners were:
Irene Cardozo – Art & Culture
Sr. Monica Coelho – Education
Milena Gomes – Social Work
Amaira Dhumatker – Sports
Siddhi Porob – Women Empowerment
Sarika Shirodkar – Journalism
Laxmi Kunkolienkar – Business
Anaisha Parab – Girl Child Prodigy
Resha Vernekar – Woman Achiever with Disability
Dr. Ratan Srikrishna Naik – Lifetime Achievement

The youngest award winner was 7 years old and the oldest winner was at 93. The event was graced by Chief Guest; Sulakshana Sawant – President Padmini Foundation, Guest of Honour; Chayaa Nanjappa – Country President India, ABWCI and Rohit Monserrate; Hon. Mayor of the Corporation city of Panaji and other eminent guests, dignitaries and well wishers.

Speaking on the occasion, founder Asha Arondekar said, “Orchid Awards are not just trophies, they are a tribute to the strength, struggles and success stories of Goan women. Through this platform, we want to inspire many more women to believe in themselves and rise.”
