CD Salgaocar maintain winning momentum; Vasco SC hold Dempo SC

Goa Khabar : CD Salgaocar registered a dramatic 3–2 victory over Calangute Association in a thrilling Goa Pro League encounter at Duler Stadium on Tuesday, while Vasco SC and Dempo SC played out a goalless stalemate at Raia Panchayat Ground.

At Duler, Calangute took an early lead through Ronaldo Oliveira in the 17th minute, but Salgaocar responded before half-time as Isac Zomuanpuia levelled matters in the 39th. The Greens grew stronger after the break, with Selvyn Miranda making it 2–1 in the 71st minute. Joshua D’Silva sealed the points deep into stoppage time (90+4’), though Suraj Kumar’s late strike (90+6’) made for a nervy finish. Selwyn;s goal earned him man of the match honours.

Yellow cards were shown to Shridharnath Gawas and Tipanna Bhavikatti for Salgaocar, while Joywin Carneiro and Mehbub Hublikar were booked for Calangute. The win lifts Salgaocar into mid-table contention after a mixed start to the season.

At Raia, Vasco SC and Dempo SC battled to a cagey 0–0 draw, both sides creating but failing to convert chances. L. Doungel and Prem Das were cautioned for Vasco, while Beckham Dias and Shameek Caine went into the referee’s book for Dempo.
