Goa Khabar : Guardian Angel SC delivered a commanding 3–0 victory over Bidesh XI in the Goa Professional League match number 16, combining attacking efficiency with defensive resilience despite being reduced to ten men midway through the second half.

The opening exchanges saw Guardian Angel dictate possession though Bidesh XI held firm through strong defensive interventions from Vishal Khodginkar, who twice thwarted clear chances. In the 39th minute, a James Fernandes cross found Moirangthem Malemnganba, but his header sailed over. Minutes later, Malemnganba dazzled with a solo run from midfield, only to be denied at the final moment by Ronit Travassos. Persistence paid off just before the break when a corner fell kindly to Malemnganba, who smashed home from inside the box to hand his side a 1–0 halftime lead.

Guardian Angel doubled their advantage early in the second half. In the 48th minute, Fedrich Fernandes’s strike rattled the post and from the rebound, Preston Castano reacted quickest to bury the ball and make it 2–0. Their momentum continued when substitute Moises D’Sa rose to meet a corner in the 68th minute, guiding his shot past the Bidesh goalkeeper for the third goal.

The tie briefly tilted when Guardian Angel midfielder Velroy Carvalho was sent off in the 70th minute after picking up a second yellow for a reckless challenge, leaving his team to defend the final 20 minutes with ten men. Bidesh XI pressed forward in search of a lifeline, but Guardian Angel’s backline stayed disciplined, with goalkeeper and defenders repelling every attempt.

At full time, Guardian Angel celebrated a convincing 3–0 triumph. Moirangthem Malemnganba, instrumental in attack with his opening goal and relentless runs, was deservedly named Player of the Match.
