Goa Khabar : AAP Goa on Saturday launched the #BJPCheBurak campaign, exposing how the State’s roads have turned into death traps due to bad road engineering, corruption, and the BJP’s chronic failure to deliver.
AAP Goa President Adv. Amit Palekar, addressing the media at Panaji Party Office, announced a dedicated helpline 70451 70451, urging Goans to send images of potholes from their areas. These will be highlighted on AAP’s social media platforms.
“The BJP government has blood on its hands. Every pothole is a BJP promise, and every fatal accident is their legacy. Young Goans are dying daily because road repair has become nothing more than a money-making scam. ” Palekar said.
He added, “The BJP government’s promises to provide good roads have collapsed faster than the roads themselves”. Palekar reminded that this isn’t the first time BJP has fooled Goans with “road repair dramas.” First came the Gulf tar promise, then the November deadline, followed by the much-hyped jetpatcher machine (which disappeared faster than former PWD Minister Nilesh Cabral). To top it off, they launched a fancy pothole app that was as useful as their governance completely pointless. Now, CM Pramod Sawant wears the PWD crown himself, yet Goa’s roads remain broken, deadly, and embarrassing for a tourism state.
AAP Working President Valmiki Naik ridiculed the government’s priorities. “Instead of fixing roads, BJP is focusing on PR campaigns and organising big events. During the recent assembly session, CM Sawant himself admitted two Goans die every single day in road accidents, half of them because of bad roads and signals. If knowingly letting people die isn’t criminal negligence, what is?”
AAP General Secretary (Campaign) Sandesh Telekar mocked the “coordination circus” between government departments. “Roads repaired today are dug up tomorrow by another agency. It’s like BJP has turned Goa’s roads into an endless merry-go-round of corruption and incompetence. And yet, they call this governance.”
AAP Vice President Roque Mascarenhas called out the insensitivity of the ruling party. “Goa has become a graveyard for its youth. Families are losing their children every day. This is the true face of their ‘double-engine sarkar.’
AAP General Secretary (Organisation) Shrikrishna Parab said the people of Goa deserve better. “This government can’t even give us safe roads. Through #BJPCheBurak, we will expose every pothole, every neglected stretch, and every avoidable death. Goans deserve dignity, safety, and good governance not buraks and BJP’s empty promises.”
He further added, “Since the last two weeks AAP has been continuously raising the issue of bad road infrastructure, and only after AAP highlighted it, the BJP government has rushed to take up and fix things. The BJP is clearly scared of AAP. We will continue this campaign across Goa and request everyone to share images of Potholes ridden roads with us so that together we can amplify this issue and put pressure on the government to resolve it.”
