Mhargai Mukti Yatra Aims to Bring Real Change in Goa- Atishi

Goa Khabar:Aam Aadmi Party today announced that they would launch the Mhargai Mukti Yatra, in the presence of AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal. AAP Goa President Valmiki Naik stated that the Yatra will be focussing on high prices and inflation across Goa. The Yatra shall start on 26 November which is Constitution Day, and will conclude on 19 December, Goa Liberation Day. Also present during the announcement were Former Delhi CM Atishi, AAP Goa Sr Vice President Sandesh Teleikar Dessai, AAP Goa Organising Secretary Prashant Naik, AAP Goa Working President Gerson Gomes &

AAP Benaulim MLA Capt Venzy Viegas.

Valmiki Naik said that the Mhargai Mukti Yatra will have two main objectives. First, AAP will travel across Goa to listen to people’s demands, expectations and problems. Second, the party will take its six Aamchi Goyak Guarantees directly to the people and explain how these promises can help reduce the burden of inflation and improve their lives.

AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal said that rising inflation has made life increasingly difficult for ordinary Goan families. Through the Mhargai Mukti Yatra, AAP leaders will travel across Goa, interact directly with people, understand their problems and aspirations, and discuss practical solutions. He highlighted the six Aamchi Goyak Guarantees including scrapping TCP Amendment 39(A), free electricity with uninterrupted power supply, ₹10 lakh health insurance for every family, ₹ 3,000 monthly assistance for women, free bus travel for women and World class playgrounds with all facilities for youth in every village. He said these guarantees are aimed at reducing the financial burden on ordinary families.

Former Delhi CM Atishi said that the objective of the campaign is not just to raise issues but to bring real change in the lives of ordinary people. She stressed that the larger goal is to ensure that a BJP government does not return to power in Goa. She said the Mhargai Mukti Yatra will help connect with people, understand their struggles and build a movement against rising inflation.

Valmiki stated that despite Goa having one of the highest per-capita incomes in the country, ordinary Goans are struggling to manage their household expenses. People are finding it difficult to afford basic necessities such as electricity, water, healthcare and education, while educated youth are struggling to find suitable employment opportunities. He said Goa has everything, from natural beauty to an educated population, yet people remain worried about their future. He blamed corrupt politics and politicians for this situation and accused the BJP government of prioritising builders and wealthy interests over protecting Goa’s land, environment and people.

He stated that Goa is unfortunately ruled by a BJP – Congress Joint Venture and pointed out that 14 of the BJP’s 28 MLAs were originally elected on Congress tickets. He stressed that Goa needs freedom from inflation, BJP and the politics of defections.
