Valpoi Police Seize Ganja Worth ₹5 Lakh; Two Arrested from Orissa

Goa Khabar: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, a dedicated team from the Valpoi Police Station conducted a successful narcotic raid near the Pissurlem IDC bypass road in Honda, Sattari, leading to the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of illegal drugs.

The arrested accused have been identified as 28-year-old Banshidhar Hans and 25-year-old Bikaschandra Hans, both residents of Taranja, Kalahandi district, Orissa.

According to the police, the duo was intercepted carrying backpacks containing a total of 5.091 kg of Ganja, estimated to be worth approximately ₹5,00,000.

The raiding team comprised PSI Khushali Naik along with Police Constables Akash Thakur (PC-7300), Mahendra Gawas (PC-8137), Gauresh Majik (PC-8184), Gauresh Vaigankar (PC-6494), Sulesh Naik (PC-6340), and Jitendra Thanekar (PC-6643).

Following the seizure, Valpoi Police registered a case under Crime No. 32/2026 under Sections 20(b)(ii)(B) and 29 of the NDPS Act.

Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Khushali Naik under the supervision of Police Inspector Vidyesh Pilgaonkar, SDPO Bicholim Ms. Shridevi B. V., and overall supervision of SP North Shri. Harish Madkaikar.
