Urges Goans to join the movement online by sending a WhatsApp message to 8588833212
Goa Khabar : AAP Goa State President Valmiki Naik, along with Vice President Manuel Cardoso and other AAP leaders, announced the National Townhall Against Forced E20 Petrol launched by AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal. The national townhall will be held on 1 August at 11:30 AM at the Constitution Club, New Delhi, to oppose the forced rollout of E20 fuel, which has led to widespread complaints of vehicle damage and reduced mileage while fuel prices continue to remain unchanged.
AAP Goa State President Valmiki Naik appealed to the people of Goa to join the movement by participating in the online townhall. He urged Goans to send a WhatsApp message to 8588833212, following which they will receive a participation link for the national townhall.
AAP leaders personally visited mechanics, garages and petrol pumps in Goa to understand the issue, where the two most common complaints raised by vehicle owners were a significant drop in mileage and increasing vehicle and engine-related damage.
Valmiki Naik stated that AAP has consistently raised the issue of forced E20 petrol across the country. He said the party had written to automobile manufacturers demanding written assurances that E20 fuel would not damage vehicles. He further stated that AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal had also written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding that if E20 petrol is being forced upon consumers, its price should be reduced to compensate for its lower mileage and the additional burden caused by vehicle damage. He added that nearly two lakh people have already shared their views through AAP’s StopE20Petrol campaign.
Valmiki Naik stated that the Government has failed to take responsibility for the problems arising out of the policy or provide any meaningful solution. He termed the forced implementation of E20 fuel without giving consumers a choice as undemocratic and appealed to every Goan to participate in the national townhall and directly share their experiences and suggestions.
AAP Goa Vice President Manuel Cardoso stated that while conducting surveys at petrol pumps across Goa, AAP leaders discovered that a large number of Goans were not even aware that E20 petrol had already been introduced. He alleged that E20 fuel is gradually damaging vehicles, with mechanics reporting increasing complaints related to carburettors, floating pins, fuel systems and engine performance.
Manuel Cardoso further criticised the BJP Government, stating that Union Minister Nitin Gadkari had once promised ethanol-blended fuel at a much lower price, but instead people are now paying over ₹100 per litre for fuel that delivers lower mileage and causes additional maintenance costs. He said people have realised the BJP’s false promises and appealed to every Goan to spread awareness about the issue by participating in the national townhall.
AAP leaders appealed to all Goans to join the National Townhall Against Forced E20 Petrol by sending a WhatsApp message to 8588833212, stating that the platform is open to everyone and will provide ordinary citizens an opportunity to raise their concerns directly and strengthen the nationwide movement against the forced rollout of E20 petrol.
